Kogi State Ministry Of Justice Law Officers Participate in the 6th Annual Criminal Law Review Conference

The Rule of Law Development Foundation (ROLDF) hosted its 6th Annual Criminal Law Review Conference from Monday, November 18 to Friday, November 22, 2024. The five-day program took place at multiple venues: the Conference Hall of J.B. Daudu & Co. in Abuja, the Glass House in Lokoja, Kogi State, and virtually via Zoom, allowing hybrid participation across Nigeria.
THE THEME OF THE CONFERENCE WAS:

Optimizing the Administration of Criminal Justice in Nigeria: How to Navigate Emerging and Systemic Challenges of Insecurity and Economic Hardship.
The Kogi State Government fully sponsored participants from the state’s judiciary and legal community, including:

  • Lawyers from the Ministry of Justice
  • Private legal practitioners
  • Judges of the Kogi State High Court
  • Magistrates
  • Other critical stakeholders

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kogi State, Hon. M.Y. Abdullahi, SAN, and the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Musa Yusuf Falilat, Esq., attended the conference, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to strengthening the administration of justice, enhancing legal expertise and upholding the rule of law.
The conference provided a platform for legal experts to discuss pressing issues in criminal justice, particularly in the face of insecurity and economic difficulties. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, expert presentations, and policy discussions aimed at improving justice delivery in Nigeria.
