The Hon. Commisioner’s initial venture into legal practice was the compulsory national youth service, at the Ministry of Justice, Owerri, Imo State, after which he was employed by the now, Hon. Justice Salisu Umar of the Kogi State High Court, into the Law Firm of Salisu Umar & Co., Lokoja, the principal, who guided him through his cutting teeth days of legal practice and who served as a launch pad for a journey, through the legal profession. He has remained in private legal practice till date and has groomed so many young lawyers, some of whom are today, senior lawyers in their own right.
Muizudeen Yunus Abdullahi is a Notary Public, Consummate Bar Man, Dependable Solicitor and Advocate, ensuring first-class professional care services through meticulous attention to detail and tireless dedication to perfection. Skilled in Criminal and Civil litigation, particularly Election Petitions, Chieftaincy cases and land matters, with over 15 Years experience in high profile cases. A financially up to date member of the Bar, particularly, Lokoja Branch, he has served the Nigerian Bar in several capacity including: Branch Public Relations Officer, Branch Secretary, and Branch Chairman under whose regime the Lokoja Bar Centre was completed and furnished. He is the current Chairman of Council, Kogi State Office of the Public Defender and Citizen Rights Commission, and a Part-time Board Member of the Kogi State Bureau for Public Private Partnership among others.
He is reputed as having one of the most robust outfits for the development of young lawyers and as a principal who will never have anybody, regardless of societal status, belittle his colleagues at the office by the least means – addressing them as his “boys”. He can easily be described as a man with a very large heart, willing to stake anything, for the development of young lawyers.
Having remained consistent in active legal practice and providing leadership for the bar, he is found worthy, by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) to be conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
As a result of his continuous contribution to development of the legal system in Kogi State, he was appointed as the 11th Attorney General of Kogi State sometimes in January, 2024.
